Conservative States Have Higher Rates Of Murder Than Liberal States
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2008 the average Rate of Murder in the United States in 2005 was 6 per 100,000 population. 11 out of 31 Conservative States had a higher than average Rate of Murder (35% of Conservative States) versus 3 out of 20 Liberal States that had a higher than average Rate of Murder (15% of Liberal States).

Conservative States Have More Families Living Below The Poverty Level Than Liberal States
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Statistical Abstract of the United States: 2008 the rate of Families Living Below the Poverty Level in the United States in 2005 was 10.2%. 16 out of 31 Conservative States had a higher rate of Families Living Below the Poverty Level (52% of Conservative States) versus 4 out of 20 Liberal States that had a higher rate of Families Living Below the Poverty Level (20% of Liberal States). The highest rate of Families Living Below the Poverty Level in the country is found in Mississippi with 16.8%. The lowest rate of Families Living Below the Poverty Level in the country is found in New Hampshire with 5.3%.
